HOW TO CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT FOR BRAND PARTNERSHIPS? (BONUS: A FILL IN THE BLANK TEMPLATE FOR YOU ) I have been obsessed with A Drink With James podcast by @jamesnord @fohr.co lately and had the chance to binge every single episode last week when I was driving on the desert for hours. Each episode is GOLD and jam packed with practical and relevant information on social media marketing. He talked about delivering social media report for brand partnerships. You guessed it right, just the screen shot results of your analytics like reach, saves etc from your posts IS NOT ENOUGH! You need to to TELL THE WHOLE STORY. When EPIC FAIL meets SERENDIPITY✨✨ #storybehindthisphoto You know when inspiration hits and you have an amazing idea and everything else in life becomes grey. Yeah, this was one of those times where I was hyped about the idea of photographing @professionaltraveler painting in the ever famous poppy field. We stopped by at Hobby Lobby on our way to Lake Elsinore and got an easel, canvas, paint tubes and brushes. Then when we put together the easel (which was surprisingly way more complicated than it looks), the wind was so strong that the easel and canvas kept falling. It became clear that this idea was doomed to fail. (swipe to see our failed attempts). I felt sooo sad and was ready to give up. Then we noticed this man, just 100 meters ahead of us on the trail with an incredibly gorgeous painting😭😍 (swipe to the 3rd photo to see him painting). I mean what are the odds, right?! He was so sweet and very generous when we asked him if we could take a couple photos with his painting🤩 This photo was definitely one for the books. I’m glad that our original idea fell apart which resulted in a much better one. I also think that by going there with an intention and purpose we opened our eyes to the unexpected and let the serendipity unfold. How do I find inspiration for new photos when it seems like every photo idea has been captured? Well, for me I use the REMIX method. I keep a folder named remix at Pinterest for all the photos, illustrations, color themes, paintings that I love and I visit that folder frequently. Then I play a game of remix where I’d match random elements of these photos with each other just to tickle creative sides of my brain. Then I let my subconscious mind do its work. Everything we see, hear, watch, listen to, experience, taste etc. are COPIED and TRANSFORMED and COMBINED into new creations and new ideas. So here is an analogy that I like Conscious mind buys all the groceries and subconscious minds cooks all the meals. Here is an example : When I saw this @innikachoo dress it immediately reminded me of a cover of a book that I read to Vera. Then my brain connected these images with the 3rd photo you see on the carousel. There was the photo idea: Me on a cliff overseeing the ocean trying to catch my flying hat. My dear @Coffeecupsandroses captured what I had envisioned. Hope this was helpful on creating new photo ideas for your social media content. Here are some of the reasons why a straw hat is sooooo Instagram-friendly: 1. A big straw hat fills the screen, it’s a powerful image. It frames your head and leads viewer’s eye to you. 2. Posing can be scary or awkward especially if you don’t know what to do with your hands. But fear not! Hats provides a surface for your hands to hold on to. You can hold the brim, the top while it’s on your head. Or you can get playful and hold them on your hand while twirling, running etc. 3. HERE’S HOW I SPICE MY PHOTOS UP lately: By changing my camera angles while adding some movement to the photo💃🏻 Angles can change a photo’s mood immediatly. Low angle shots give us a different view of the world. Most of our lives are spent well above ground level. This forced perspective brings an everyday scene into new light. Now, when this uncommon angle is COMBINED with some movement 💥photos become much more dynamic! Swipe to see where I shot this photo and why I picked up that location. This open space was amazing for what I had in mind: a simple, clean, minimal photo with just layered dress and sky. And as a bonus I was able to find a ledge for Gulin to stand tall while I was lying down on my back.
